The traditional Carnival of Light transforms the Linnanmäki Amusement park into a dazzling world of light and colours on 9–18 October 2026.
On the opening night, Friday 9 October, the very first Carnival of Light Pre-party 18+ event invites adults to experience the park in a whole new light. The evening combines spectacular illuminations, thrilling rides and a live concert, headlined by Maija Vilkkumaa!
The Carnival of Light, the grand finale of the amusement park season, brings no fewer than 11 unique light art installations to Linnanmäki in 2026! Come and admire the park’s spectacular display of lights and colours, and experience the rides in a whole new light.
On the opening night of the Carnival of Light, Friday 9 October, Linnanmäki will host the very first Carnival of Light K18 Pre-Party. This special event invites adult guests to enjoy the unique atmosphere of the Carnival of Light in an adults-only setting. The evening will be headlined by the ever-popular Maija Vilkkumaa.
From Saturday 10 October onwards, the Carnival of Light will be open to visitors of all ages.
During the dazzling Carnival of Light, Linnanmäki will be transformed into a spectacular world of colour and illumination. This year’s event features 11 unique light art installations, all designed by light artist Max Lapinsuo-Sylwén. Lapinsuo-Sylvén is also known for the acclaimed work showcased at last year’s LUX Helsinki festival.

miraculum
Miraculum takes viewers on a journey through the history and present day of the Vuoristorata Roller Coaster, guiding them toward the future. The artwork celebrates Linnanmäki’s iconic wooden roller coaster in a playful yet respectful way, and concludes with a heartfelt thank you from the Vuoristorata itself to all those who have ridden it over the decades. The show is presented every thirty minutes. The best viewing locations are around Keidas Terrace Restaurant and from the direction of Estradi Performance Stage.
Taigan syke
Experience the thrill of Taiga in a whole new light and admire the dance of colorful lights from aboard this world-class coaster! In Taiga’s light artwork, illumination follows and highlights the ride’s speed, movement, and dramatic elevation changes. This sparkling show is best experienced from the ride itself.

The carnival of Light Pre-party 18+
The Carnival of Light, the dazzling finale of the amusement park season, will light up Linnanmäki in spectacular colour for the 20th time! To celebrate the milestone, the event opens on Friday, 9 October 2026, with the first-ever Carnival of Light 18+ Pre-Party, created exclusively for adults.
This landmark evening invites friends, colleagues and groups to enjoy a memorable night surrounded by stunning illuminations, thrilling rides and great live entertainment. The evening’s headlining performer is the wonderful Maija Vilkkumaa!

Maija Vilkkumaa
Maija Vilkkumaa performs at the Carnival of Light Pre-Party 18+ event on Friday 9 October at 7PM.
Linnanmäki is located in the Alppila district of Helsinki. You can enter the park through the Main Entrance Linnanmäki’s Parkki & Patikka and park at Elimäenkatu. We recommend using public transportation when travelling to Linnanmäki.
Parking near the amusement park is limited, so we encourage visitors to arrive by public transport whenever possible. Guests arriving by car can take advantage of Linnanmäki’s Parkki & Patikka service and park at Elimäenkatu 15 in Vallila.
Parkki & Patikka parking is available to visitors for just €4 per day.
Children under the age of three are admitted free of charge.
You don’t need a reservation ticket to attend the Carnival of Light.
During the Carnival of Light, almost all of our rides and attractions are open daily according to the park’s regular opening hours.
Please note that the following children’s rides close earlier, at 7 pm: Helikopteri, Hepparata, Huristin, Keikutin, Lohikäärme, Pienoiskaruselli, Pilotti, Poppis, Propelli, Rekkaralli, Rumpukaruselli and Vankkuripyörä.
Hurjakuru and Muksupuksu will remain closed throughout the Carnival of Light.

Discounted student tickets are also available for the Carnival of Light K18 Pre-Party. Students can purchase an Isohupi Wristband for €42 or a package of four Isohupi Wristbands for €150.
Please note that you must verify your student status to redeem the student offer. The Carnival of Light K18 Pre-Party is strictly for guests aged 18 and over. Student-priced wristbands are valid only for the Carnival of Light K18 Pre-Party on Friday, 9 October.
