Sustainability and responsibility are an important part of Linnanmäki’s operations. We want to create joy in a way that takes people, the environment, and the future into account.
In our 2025 Sustainability Report, we have gathered our key actions, goals, and impacts. The report explains what Linnanmäki’s sustainability work is built upon and what kind of impact we have on the world: what Linnanmäki’s joy footprint looks like.
The Sustainability Report for 2025 is available in Finnish. Below, you can find highlights from our sustainability work.
Do good by having fun
The Children’s Day Foundation maintains and develops Linnanmäki Amusement Park to raise funds for child welfare work.
In 2025, the Children’s Day Foundation donated €3.8 million through its founding organizations to support child welfare work as well as donated 6,600 wristbands to low-income families. Over the decades, we have raised more than €130 million for child welfare causes.
By having fun at Linnanmäki, every one of our guests takes part in doing good.
At Linnanmäki, we are all Joy Makers, working to delight our guests by creating unique and memorable experiences. We work as one team, with a twinkle in our eye, and value diversity among both our Joy Makers and our guests.
We are a significant employer of young people. During the amusement park season, we employ more than 700 seasonal Joy Makers, and for many of them, Linnanmäki is their very first workplace. We also provide employment opportunities for 16–17-year-olds and people with partial work ability.
We have signed The Glasgow Declaration on Climate Action in Tourism, an international climate commitment for the tourism industry. Through this commitment, we have pledged to halve our greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 compared to 2019 levels and to reach net zero emissions by 2050.
In 2025, all the electricity and heating we used came from renewable sources. Our waste recycling rate was nearly 70%.
We also apply the principles of the circular economy in our operations. This can be seen, for example, in extending the lifespan of machines and equipment and reusing materials whenever possible.
Respecting nature
At Linnanmäki Amusement Park, we provide a pleasant and naturally diverse environment. Linnanmäki has 3,750 square metres of green and sedum roofs that help cool buildings, capture carbon, and retain rainwater. We continue to increase the number of green roofs whenever possible when constructing new buildings.
We support pollinators and urban biodiversity through a variety of solutions across the park. We are creating more meadow-like areas and leaving deadwood in the park’s behind-the-scenes areas, providing important habitats for many species.
Our grounds are also home to Pörribacken, an amusement park designed for pollinators, as well as more than 15 birdhouses.
Ensuring the safety of our amusement park is one of our most important responsibilities. Safety is a cornerstone of our operations, and we are committed to continuously developing and improving it.
Our operations are guided by legislation, regulations, and official requirements. We work closely with a range of authorities, and safety is an integral part of the training provided to all our employees.
In 2021, Linnanmäki was awarded the Safe Organization of the Year prize at the Finnish Security Awards. The award is presented to a company or organization that has demonstrated an exemplary commitment to building a positive safety culture.
Linnanmäki is an open and safe place for everyone. We are committed to promoting equality and diversity and to ensuring that every Joy Maker and every guest can be themselves.
We want everyone to feel welcome at our amusement park.
Developing responsible amusement park operations
Linnanmäki has been awarded the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation’s EcoCompass certificate for using the EcoCompass system to improve its environmental management. The environmental management system is a concrete tool which we use to manage environmental issues well in all our amusement park activities.
We want to constantly be improving our operations in line with the aims of the environmental management system by taking into account the needs of our customers, our Masters of Fun and our other stakeholders in the development work.
Linnanmäki has been awarded the Sustainable Travel Finland (STF) label in recognition of its ongoing commitment to sustainable tourism. The STF label is granted by Visit Finland to organizations that meet the criteria defined in the sustainability program.
Visit Finland has developed the Sustainable Travel Finland program and label for tourism businesses and regions to help the industry respond to changing demand and secure its future — development must be sustainable.
Linnanmäki actively implements various measures to reduce environmental impact, such as sourcing renewable energy, improving recycling, and increasing the availability of locally produced and vegan treats.
Ethical values
We expect all our partners and suppliers to follow our ethical code of conduct.
We appreciate direct and open feedback on our activities. Linnanmäki’s whistleblowing channel can be used by stakeholders who discover misconduct in relation to our amusement park operations. The whistleblowing channel is not meant for customer feedback on Linnanmäki’s services or products.
